MICROFLUIDIC DROPLETS - DOUBLE EMULSION
Microfluidic double emulsion
Droplet manipulations, also called digital microfluidics, have become essential in many microfluidic fields, such as biology and chemistry: droplet-based systems are used to synthesize nano and micro particles, encapsulate many biological entities (cells, proteins, DNA, etc) as well as microreactors (passive and active mixing). The MFCS and its FASTAB technology are especially adapted to droplet generation: they enable pulseless flow to generate highly monodisperse droplets, instantaneous control of the flow (settling time of 200ms on average) and independent control of each microfluidic channel to stop the flow anytime.
