WHAT IS MICROTAS?
Each year the Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences (MicroTas) addresses scientists and engineers working in miniaturized systems for chemistry and life science who are interested in keeping current in the areas as well as to share knowledge with other professionals.
MicroTAS 2019 gathered companies and researchers to report research results from multiple fields such as microfluidics, microfabrication, nanotechnology and integration. It also offered plenary talks as well as contributed oral presentations and posters. Over 900 worldwide scientists and professionals engaged in research on/and the use of integrated microsystems were present to attend this 23rd edition!
µTAS 2019 continued the series of Conferences that are the premier forum for reporting research results in microfluidics, microfabrication, nanotechnology, integration, materials and surfaces, analysis and synthesis, and detection technologies for life science and chemistry. Following Kaohsiung, TAIWAN in 2018, this meeting took place in a new exciting hub for nano, bio, and medical research: the International Conference will be held at Congress Center in Basel, SWITZERLAND from 27 – 31 October 2019.

Our Talk : "New applications in pressure control
and droplet generation in microfluidics"
Arranged by the conference, the industrial stage presentation of 20 minutes was the perfect place to introduce our latest innovations in microfluidics, microfabrication, nanotechnology and integration for life science and chemistry field.
This year we have been presenting “New applications in pressure control and droplet generation in microfluidics“, discussing our latest innovations, at the cutting edge of the pressure-driven flow control technology.
Live demonstration: Pneumatic actuation with Fluigent's new P-Switch
This year, we had a live demonstration showing the advantages of the NEW P-Switch. It is a new addition to the LineUp series, which allows one to choose 2 different input pressures (for instance positive or negative) and alternate them between up to 8 outlets as needed. It allows for precise control of the pressure applied to internal microfluidic valves such as Quake valves.
OUR NEW PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS
Fluigent was the first company to introduce pressure-driven flow control to the microfluidic research market, as opposed to conventional syringe and peristaltic pumps. We aim to reduce the overall cost of experiments, experimental time and decrease sample and reagent consumption. We keep working on new solutions to achieve these goals. This year we introduced several of them:
- Aria: New automated solution for cellular perfusion or timed injection protocols which allows one to automate delivery up to 10 different solutions into a chamber or microfluidic chip by following user defined protocols.
Go to product page - P-Switch: It is an innovation of the LineUp series, which allows to choose 2 input pressures (for instance positive or negative) and switch them between 8 outlets as needed.
- Push-Pull: A new module of “Flow EZ” which allows to choose in a range from negative to positive pressure.
See you next year!
The next International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences will hold at the Palm Springs Convention Center in California, USA from 4-8 October 2020.
